A servant’s heart is at the center of Ryzon Refuge. Board members are committed to volunteering in the community and being fully engaged with the needs of our residents. This is critical to furthering our mission and ensuring the utmost quality of services.

Chrissy Adamczyk - President & Co-Founder

Chrissy Adamczyk is the President of Ryzon Refuge. She has a wide range of experience serving various nonprofits, zealously advocating to fill unmet needs in the community. Her depth of experience includes organizing fundraising campaigns, mentoring, and more. Fueled by faith, she is heartfully devoted to helping mothers and children in need.


Life Verse: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17 EVS

 

Brett Scott - Vice President & Pastoral Care

Brett Scott retired after 40 years in IT leadership. He is a Seminary graduate and is extremely passionate about teaching the Word of God in various places.


Life Verse: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."   Romans 12: 1-2 NIV

 

Sally Westover - Treasurer

Sally Westover retired as the COO after 39+ years in the construction industry.  She was responsible for all company finances, personnel, and safety during her tenure. Her goal in life is to ensure her heart remains true to God and her love for others is evident in her home, church, and community.  


Life Verse: “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

Trish Rosenthal- Secretary

Trish Rosenthal has over 25 years of business experience and is retired from the State of Arizona and is a small business owner. Trish loves serving God and demonstrating his love to others in the community. 


Life Verse: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

Kerri Pumphrey- Board Member

Kerri Pumphrey is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As a Sales Associate with Peace Sotheby’s International Realty, she is honored to serve. Her lifelong passion for serving others has taken her from mission work to fundraising and outreach. Kerri’s heart for women rebuilding their lives beautifully reflects our mission.

Sherri Lacko - Board Member

Sherri Lacko retired after 40 years of owning and operating 4 different small businesses.  Her life dramatically changed when she surrendered her heart to Jesus in her teen years.  She raised her 3 children as a single mother and knows firsthand the challenges and joys of navigating through life.   


Life Verse:   “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”  Psalm 91:1 

Hailey Evans - Board Member

Hailey Evans is an award-winning storyteller, strategist, and creator of the EPIC Communication Framework™ and the EPIC Impact™ Operating System. She’s the bestselling author of EPIC Impact and the memoir Rewrite the Story That Tried to Break You. From food stamps to keynote stages, she helps mission-driven leaders amplify their voice through story

Brenda Ryan - Board Member

Brenda Ryan has served for more than 30 years  in education, social work, and ministry. She holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration and is a Senior Fellow of the Waccamaw American Leadership. She is devoted to empowering, encouraging and inspiring others especially women and children. 


Life Verse: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Laura Hunter - Co-Founder 1/2023-1/2026

Laura Hunter served as the Vice President of Ryzon Refuge from 1/2023-1/2026. She is an attorney at Strain Law and has several years of experience in the legal, governmental, medical, and corporate fields. Her family is a central part of her life, and she is devoted to helping her children and others flourish.
