Life is difficult at times. For anything you are struggling with answers can be found in the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word to us, a handbook for life’s journey! God wants a relationship with each of us and to help us through life’s difficulties.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18
God is holy and without sin. Our sin separates us from Him. BUT, God sent Jesus, His son, to make a way for a relationship with God. Jesus is perfect, He never sinned. Jesus took the payment for our sin by dying on a cross for everyone.
"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:21
Through this, Jesus became the bridge or way to heaven and our God!
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
All we must do to restore our relationship with God is to accept His free gift of salvation offered to all. We receive this free gift the moment we place our trust and faith in Him and believe Jesus is our Savior. He also promises to send us a helper, the Holy Spirit, to guide us through life.
Below are the beginning steps of choosing a life with Jesus:
You must recognize and admit to the sin in your life that separates you from God.
"But all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 NIV
“As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;” Romans 3:10 NIV
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 NIV
You must believe that God came to us here as Jesus Christ in the flesh, was crucified, died and was buried as payment for ALL our sins. On the third day He rose from dead, showed himself to many people and then ascended into heaven. He did this all for us out of His love for us. As a result of that willing sacrifice, He restored our relationship God, with NO condemnation, closing the gap between us and God.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,”
Romans 8:1
Simply accept this free gift of salvation from your sins and begin trusting Jesus completely as your Savior and as the Lord of your life!
“If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved... for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:9, 13
Just pray this simple prayer believing everything above to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord:
Dear God, our Heavenly Father, I confess to you all of my sins where I have missed the mark of God’s desire for my life and sinned against others and God. I come to you believing that through your Son Jesus Christ you came to us here on earth allowing yourself to be crucified carrying all my sins and taking them away from me. I believe you were victorious over sin and death by your resurrection from the dead and you saved me from all my sins and gave me an unbroken relationship with God the Father! I now trust you as my Savior and as the Lord of my life, desiring to be obedient to you out of my love for you. Amen!
